Understanding the Watch Cosmetic Grade System

Created by Zach Prasser, Modified on Tue, 25 Nov at 3:47 PM by Zach Prasser

In addition to the overall condition category, each watch listing includes a cosmetic grade that evaluates the physical appearance of key components such as the case, dial, bezel, bracelet, and strap.

GradeDescription
MintLike-new with no visible scratches, nicks, dents, or blemishes.
ExcellentVery minor wear visible only on close inspection; no major imperfections.
GoodVisible signs of wear, including light scratches or marks, but no deep gouges or structural damage.
FairClear signs of use including noticeable scratches or dents, but still fully functional and structurally intact.

Cosmetic grades reflect appearance only — all watches are authenticated and tested for accuracy and functionality before fulfillment.

To help you evaluate cosmetic condition:

  • All watch listings include multiple detailed photos

  • Close-ups highlight any notable marks or characteristics

  • Any service history or replacement components (e.g., straps, bezels, crystals) are noted in the description when provided by the supplier
